Describing the Budget Speech as a Karaoke Budget [lot of noise and no substance?] Opposition Leader Mia Mottley decided to declare her assets and liabilities during her reply to the Budgetary Proposals by PM David Thompson.
The only bright spark coming out of her 4 hour response, Mia Mottley in declaring her assets and liabilities has score a first. Not only is the parliamentarian the first to publicly reveal her worth but did it before any government ministers. Challenging governments ministers to do likewise saying that “she was satisfied that MP’s who wanted to serve in public life would have to face the legislation,’ Mia with nothing to lose hurriedly hit a six exposing her net worth to all and sundry in an attempt to show up David Thompson on the fool hardlyness of implementing Integrity Legislation [ITAL] in 100 days upon assuming office. Taking advantage of this Mia Mottley “tek dat’ attitude not only guarantee points in her corner but if nothing else forever branded in the minds of Barbadians history in the making on July 08 2008. Even for those with long term memory who may forget her reply all together.
